Why do nuread items in my deleted folder show up on my windows phone in the inbox?

I am receiving large amounts of spam which has been directed to my deleted folder in outlook. But they keep appearing on my phone, but not on my computer. how can I stop this?

Perhaps you have your PC Outlook setup using POP3 where it doesn't make the change server side. If you log into web mail from your PC, the phone should see the same emails you see there. So if you are doing spam filtering via rules or something, do it server side or use Outlook with your email configured as an IMAP account.
