INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error when attempting to boot from newly cloned SSD connected to USB port?

[Windows Central Question]

So I'm trying to upgrade my ssd from 32 to 120 gb. I bought a 120 gb ssd (2.5" SATA III) as well as a SATA III 2.5" to USB adapter. After cloning everything from my current drive to the new one, I attempted a boot from the USB, however when I tried to boot I got a frowny face and the error INACESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE, windows then restarted and booted from the default (32 GB) drive. Any ideas?
