Windows Central Question

I've had my Nokia Lumia 720 for some time. I've been using OneNote alot, making notes of all sorts of things.

Today, Using my Outlook account, I logged into Onedrive for the first time ever, wanting to back up some photos from my phone. I never found out how to upload photos to OneDrive from my phone, but that's not the problem.

The problem: When I recently opened OneNote, It said "Syncing to OneDrive" (or something similar) in the upper part of the phone screen. I did not touch any buttons or anything, and suddenly ALL my notes seem to be gone, and the note list now looks like:

- Welcome to OneNote
- Sample trip plan
- Sample shopping list

I logged into OneDrive via a PC, to see if all my notes was uploaded to OneDrive, but the note list looks excactly the same in OneDrive as the list above.

This is very frustrating for me. Is there any way to recover my notes?

I don't understand what has happened. As mentioned, all I did was to open OneNote to make a note and this happened automatically. I never pressed any buttons or chose any options (there were none).
