Windows 10 update deleted my files in windows.old

[Windows Central Question]

1) Last night, Windows automatically started installing updates 'insider preview 14931'

2) All my files in c://windows.old were deleted - my harddrive went from around 30gb free space to 90gb

3) I have tried recurva, easyus and stellar recovery tools - recurva shows the files but recovers them as corrupt files...

What should I do? This is a joke.

once deleted its nearly impossible to recover those system files, even if they are recovered you will have to make registry changes to actually make them visible to windows again. I hope you understood the risk involved with enrolling in insider preview which could bring about any change to your pc with or without your concern . So be aware next time.
