Windows 10 Pro Digital License query

I have a laptop and a desktop. Both running a legit copy of Windows 10 Pro acquired with the free upgrade.

My laptop is using my Windows Live account, desktop just a local admin user. So the laptop license is linked to my window live account and the desktop is linked to the hardware. Can I swap this around? It makes more sense to link my desktop to my MS account and the laptop to the hardware. I'm asking because I want to format my desktop soon.

What would happen if I log into my desktop with my windows live account without removing it from my laptop first? Will I have 2 license keys linked to my windows live account?

Both devices will be linked to your Microsoft Account. You should be good to go when you sign in with your Microsoft Account after the format.
