How do I stop OneDrive from syncing files I haven't selected?

I am setting up an old win 7 laptop for leisure travel and want to sync a few OneDrive files to it. Problem is, even though I only select a few files in the "Select Files to Sync" option, OneDrive insists on syncing EVERYTHING! I have neither the time nor storage for that option.

Any tips and/or suggestions as to what I'm do wrong will be greatly appreciated.
