Went to Austin store more than an hour early to see if there was a line. There was a line all the way to Macy's in the freezing rain. I value my time better than that and I wasn't going to get up at 3:00 AM and sit there for 6 or 7 hours, so I went to work instead.

Um... yeah. You can earn $100 pretty easily by just working 6 or 7 hours. Some people can earn it an hour. Sitting in the freezing rain for 6 or 7 hours and getting pneumonia is not worth it to save $100 or $179.

That's impossible. We were told that only happens to healthcare.gov.

Store wasn't set up to handle this kind of traffic. They know it will crash at times like this. But they're not going to change the infrastructure to support 10,000x more simultaneous people just because of a few special deals.

And yeah... I know you were joking. I just had to post something because it took me 30 minutes on that online store to get mine. lol

Sucks that I couldn't go. My gf went for me at the millenia mall store and ended up being 25th in line at 8:10

I think she just told you she went, unless your girlfriend was some stubbly dude with glasses studying a college textbook (#25 in front of me). #27&#28 were some married couple discussing LEGO power miner toys behind me, presumably for their kid.

With that sir.....you just got the biggest laugh of the day. I went to a MS store in a mall in northern VA, got there around 715 and was like damn. The store was already open taking care of the door buster winners with about 15 people already in the store. I was about the 26/27 person in line but some of those people had been in the mall since 6am. As a consolidation prize, the rest of use got free water and t-shirts for staying in line. I wish I knew the mall opened that early.

Interwebs my friend. A lot of malls open their doors early for "mall walkers." They are old people who like to walk inside so they don't get pneumonia or break a hip slipping around on ice outside. I was banking on people not factoring that into the equation.

Short Hispanic female. She was there, she entered in a gift card raffle and all. Although she could have lied about what place in line. Either way she didn't get there in time.
