This is truly a great idea, I would've definitely tried it if I still had a Windows Phone.

However, doesn't the API of Windows Phone limit your app's functionality? I mean your app will create individual tiles for each app and whenever a person clicks one of those tiles, first your app will open, and then the desired app.

Theoretically this would make app start up a bit slower and your app will always be in the "recents".

Is this true or not?

Ya. That's a limitation of the Windows Phone API and that's how it works. Also Microsoft doesn't allow the apps to be programmatically closed which leaves the app to be in suspended mode.
