Does anyone know if the Windows Phone 7.1.1 SDK work with the RC of Visual Studio 2012 on the Windows 8 RP?
I like to be on the edge of technology, but still need to develop my Windows Phone apps. I do have a dual boot configuration with Windows 7 which has Visual Studio 2010. So I can boot into that if I need to.
The short answer is No. Visual Studio 2012 RC does not let you do Windows Phone development on any platform. I don't know if they plan on fixing this, but I can tell you that right now it does not work.
That being said, you can do phone development on Windows 8. You just need to install VS 2010. It works just fine.

Can you have both Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012 installed at the same time?
You can still use VS 2010 in windows 8. I had one hiccup when installing where it would not automatically add the XNA Games for Windows marketplace client. To get around it you just have to install it manually before running the VS Installer. This post is a good reference:
Did they fix the emulator? When I tried to develop WP apps on Windows 8 a few months ago, the emulator wasn't supported. That was a couple Win8 releases ago, though.
I am using Windows RC on my PC now, and everything works fine, XNA (needs seperate install as mentionen above) and emulator works fine. I have been working on all my apps last two weeks with RC installed, and had no issues at all.
I of course have both VS 2010 and VS 2012 installed. I use 2010 for WP7-development and VS2012 for Win8 development.
And Win8 works great with multiple screens, my PC is a desktop PC with 4 monitors, and it actually works better than in WP7.
So in short...Win8 RC is no "show stopper" for a WP7-developer :)
