Revenue From Applications

I'm thinking about investing a small amount of money into developing a Windows Phone 8 application. Just curious does anyone know of information around revenue from ads or sales. I'm trying to decide how much money to invest in the application and get a vague idea on how much return would be possible for an app that does decently well. Any information or pointing me in the right direction would be great. It's most likely going to be a simple game at first.

SInce no one has replied I am going to take a shot. It depends on how your app is received and how well your ad placement is.

It is really tough to figure out the countries where microsoft ads work and where they don't work.
