Update to GDR3 dev preview: How will it work with official GDR3 from manufacturer?

I have an HTC8x.
If I update now to GDR3 developer preview, I wonder how will it work once HTC releases the official GDR3?
Will my device receive the update?
Will there be any version conflicts? I am afraid my device won't be able to update to HTC's GDR3

I read in several places that it will have no affect. When GDR3 drops, you get that update in the same way you would if you didn't update the dev preview.

The OS version of the Final GDR3 will be higher than the Dev Preview & don't forget the HT|C Firmware will be higher as it's currently GDR2 Firmware with GDR3 Dev Preview so you 8x will just notice that it's outdated and update as normal.
