Question about the developer unlock tool

I have an AT&T Nokia 1520 and interested to unlock my device with the developer unlock tool from the Windows Phone 8 SDK. Question 1, does my phone will be wipe or reset after unlocking? Question 2, any advantage and disadvantage? Question 3, If i change my mind to go back to the default settings on the phone, do i will lose any file? thank you guys.

1) no, at least it didn't on wp7 and I don't think it will on 8. 2) if you don't know then why do you want to do it? (but the advantage is being able to install apps you made without submitting to store. 3) idk

2) not unless you plan on installing apps that aren't in the store
3) are you referring to a system reset? If so, then yes.

2) no disadvantages, advantages are testing your own apps and slightly more loose restrictions (e.g. tile update interval)
3)yep, you can use the tool to unregister it (again, no reset necessary).

You don't have to use the tool to unregister a phone - you can do so at Windows Phone Dev Center in the dashboard. If you unregister your phone (undo the developer unlock) the only things you will lose are any sideloaded, unsigned apps. They will no longer run.
