Image sharing sites recommendations

I've been thinking about sharing some of my photos online so have been looking at social media aimed at that practice. I created an Instagram account and tbh, I'm a bit disappointed with a few things. First off, the scaling options are incredibly poor and there doesn't seem to be a way to upload multiple images at once. To compound matters, it seems I have to upload the images from my phone unless I jump through a load of hoops and install third party emulators on my computer. Then there's the garish filters.

I think it's safe to say that my Instagram account will be deleted very soon.

So, what other options are there please?

I've heard about 500px and Flickr but don't have much knowledge on either so would appreciate some suggestions please. A Windows Phone 8.x app is a definite requirement as is the ability to upload from a desktop browser. Also, I'm looking at free options only.

Flickr is the obvious choice. I think you now get 1Tb of free storage, too. Flickr Central is a pretty decent, if unofficial, Windows Phone app.
