HTC 8x firmware update available

It's accurate. Bad news though is my phone is now in a reset loop :unhappysweat:

Edit: I should point out that mine had "special" firmware and the failure is most likely due to that, not HTC's update exactly.

This is a firmware update following an OS patch--very common, as they are always bundled together.

No, this is not for carrier branded device as MS is still testing/collecting data on how this goes. Case in point is my "special" 8X which is now history ;)

Is there no way to save it and reflash like the L920 trick for when it bricked?

Edit: bad sentence structure.

Sorry to change the subject a bit, but are you experiencing wear on the soft-touch coating of your 8x, Daniel ("dirty corners")?

yeah, I do. Don't know if this is normal, but the phone I was trying in the shop seamed to not have these "dirty corners". But for me it doesn't matter. I don't find it very disturbing...

I checked for updates before going to bed. Sorry I didn't post anything else.
Here are some screenshots.

My phone is an unlocked one. Carrier Orange Romania.

I'm in India where HTC sold unlocked handsets. I got this update too. I had to check for the update manually and it showed up.

I received the OS as soon as word got out but this firmware update isn't showing on my phone yet. I just checked 1 minute ago and nada.

Will try tomorrow morning.
