Post Portico camera flash not working properly

For some reason now the flash in my 8x is not working properly ever since I updated to Portico about a week or so ago. It's weird because the flash comes on, and the camera takes the picture with the flash, but when the picture gets saved, its come up very dark with very little brightness, almost as if the flash was off.

Here is an example of two pictures in low light condition:

I then took took this picture in same low light condition with Flash ON



Something doesn't make sense. My camera is not saving the picture with the flash at all. It seems like the flash is causing the picture to come out darker, which would mean the lens is not timing it right with the flash when capturing the image

I have found a temporary solution which is to turn up the exposure to "highest". Which is really odd since Pre-Portico, the brightness was working just fine in "normal" (default).

I have noticed on mine there will be a red circle with a line through a flash icon at the top right. I have to reboot in order to get the flash to work. Is this also what you have experienced? Did you find any tips?
