Please help just bought htc 8x and having alot of trouble

so i just recieved my htc 8x that i recently purchased... i took it to att and had it activated as a go phone with unlimited talk text and 2 gb data. i was going through the apps and trying to make sure everything worked... i keep tring to open my camera app (preinstalled) and it instantly closes... i downloaded a 3rd party app to see if it might work and it told me that there were no cameras installed on my device. i read somewhere that the gdr3 update renders some cameras usless as it doesnt support the drivers... is there any fix for this... also when making calls i cant hear the other person unless its on speaker phone, but while on speaker phone they cant hear me.. i have to switch back and forth to have a conversation and its really annoying... please any help is welcomed!

ebay... and i know not the brightest idea but for the price it wasnt a bad move

If it were me, I would do a hard reset. Go to settings, about, and there is an option to do a hard reset. See what happens after that. If you still have trouble, well....

did soft reset first, no results, then hard reset, no results... i did read somewhere that the software updates might be to blame...
