Need off-contract, prepaid help

I thought I remember someone mentioning here that you can get any device with and use prepaid plans on Verizon. Well exactly HOW can you do that? I tried to order one off the website (best off-contract price by far) today but it looks like the prepaid plans are only available for specific plans. So how am I supposed to pull this off, because I'm not signing a contract right now?

Not sure about prepaid..but you should be able to get month to month ..(i.e. no contract) and sign up for a regular plan. They will probably charge an activation fee is all..

AT&T does the same thing.. oh.. well except they have a straight forward prepaid plan where you get voice then add features like data and SMS.

How much was the phone off contract btw ? $429 ???? Or do they give you the $50 discount for ordering online as well ?
