This feature was not supported in WP8.1 so the question is have they finally added it in WP10?

    Hey Cortana is a joke..

I think the answer is here https://www.qualcomm.com/news/onq/2013/02/20/snapdragon-wakes-mobile-world-snapdragon-voice-activation Hey Cortana uses a HW feature in the Qualcomm platform. This voice activation is likely to be much more basic than the then off line voice analysis. Your voice is...

How can Windows Phone 10 make a splash with consumers?

Content is king and the Windows Phone OS is lacking a lot of features found in competitors. If Microsoft doesn't fix that it doesn't matter if they come with a flagship phone. What's the point of having really powerful hardware if the OS can't take advantage of it.

Twitter CEO takes stance against abuse, vows to eliminate trolls from the platform

I like how this forum censors his first name like himself is a victim of internet censorship.

Switching platforms? | Thinking of leaving?...comment here!

re: Switching platforms|Thinking of leaving...comment here! So after a few months with my Nokia 930 I think I'm going to shelf it for a while. Nokia 930 a great phone when it comes to hardware but I don't like Windows Phone which is simply too limited for my taste. Microsoft haven't implemented...

Open Source version of WP coming?

No way that will ever happen. Mind you, open source and source code availability is not the same thing. For Windows Mobile, Microsoft distributed it with some source code because to make it easier for them to adapt the OS for their hardware. I can think that Microsoft can do the same thing with...

    Lumia 930 overheating!

Yes absolutely. The processor is more beefy on the 930 and also consumes more power. With the Qualcomm platform as the one in 930 you have to seriously consider the thermal design. Some of you haven't escaped the news about Snapdragon 810 which contains Cortex A57 cores. In my opinion, these...

New 930 - Horrible Battery Life

It depends what you means with bad battery life. My impressions are that idle power consumption is actually very good with this device. However, once you start to use the device it quickly gets hot even with moderate use and the battery drains very quickly.

    Regulatory BS prevents USB tethering

USB tethering is already there and implemented, as we have seen. I can't say the same with USB OTG, HDMI as I have seen no trace of it. That Nokia 930 has no USB tethering is mostly because they just apply the same strategy for all models.

    Regulatory BS prevents USB tethering

In practice there is no technical problems for Microsoft adding USB tethering in Windows Phone. It's probably already there but disabled or not deployed. USB drivers already exists for this particular usage. The likely reason for Microsoft for not adding USB tethering is because it is a gray...

    Lumia 930 overheating!

The problem with overheating is not isolated to the Nokia 930 but is more connected to the chipset. About all phones based on the same platform will have problems with overheating in 4K recording. The time you can record differs as they have different solutions when it comes to heat dissipation...

What do I lose by switching too a non-Nokia Windows Phone?

You will not miss out on anything. All of the Lumia SW and Here SW will be partly from Microsoft and Nokia and they will get paid for it. I predict that Microsoft will back out of the hardware manufacturing and let others do that like HTC and Samsung. In the future you are more likely to have...

Do you think it's getting harder to be cross platform?

Good question and we will see what changes that will be introduced in Qt to support Windows 10 single program run everywhere strategy.

Lumia 930 Display Issues (Orange Hue)

It would be nice if you could find the source. AFAIK Nokia buy their OLED screen from Samsung and are the same they are using in their own devices. It wouldn't make any sense for them to change the manufacturing process just for Nokia. The question is what kind of quality threshold they have...
