I found that while I cannot enable Hyper-V in a VM and also not Windows Sandbox (because it relies on Hyper-V), I can enable "Virtual Machine Platform". What does it do and what would a VM do with it?

I cannot help but I understand your frustration. I hope this gets sorted! I am always shocked by such lack of error checking and the very short explanations for when something goes wrong while there are very long and boring texts describing in detail what would happen if it actually worked...

How does one run Windows containers on ARM? Docker Desktop insists on using WSL2 or Hyper-V but I just want to run process-level Windows containers (feature provided by Containers optional component, I thought). Any ideas?

And speaking of Hyper-V on ARM, is there any known way to install Ubuntu or FreeBSD? The ARM64 ISOs appear to have individual issues and won't boot. Can Hyper-V on ARM run anything but Windows and WSL2?

Are the VMs listed in Quick Create on Hyper-V on ARM for x86? None of them seem to be bootable after download and unpacking. Did anyone else try?
