Sick of laptop docks and spaghetti cables, I moved my entire daily workflow to a Windows 11 PC no bigger than a bagel

I thought eSports players dropped all the settings to the minimum? (lol) Then again, my idea of eSports is still Quake 3 Arena. I'm not down with the kids and their Valorants.

Sick of laptop docks and spaghetti cables, I moved my entire daily workflow to a Windows 11 PC no bigger than a bagel

Yeah, the Alienware monitor I mentioned in the article has four USB-A ports, which hold my peripheral dongles and a spare cable to connect an Xbox controller. It could be faster, though, and upgrading to a Thunderbolt/USB4 monitor is incredibly tempting. We'll see what discounts happen soon, and...

Sick of laptop docks and spaghetti cables, I moved my entire daily workflow to a Windows 11 PC no bigger than a bagel

I agree that Strix Halo is tempting, but one of my biggest reasons for moving away from my desktop is that I didn't want to play games on the work machine. It's not that I don't have any discipline, but it's nice to have games 'separated' from everything else. The mini PC practically only has a...

You're right about the switch; I have at least one switch for my secondary monitor: a cheap UGREEN 2-to-1 HDMI that feeds a basic 1080p 60Hz screen. KVM switches are tempting, too, but my keyboard and mouse are wireless anyway, so I tend to leave the dongles in one machine and connect cables to...

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is an unplayable mess after a disastrous and disgraceful launch on Xbox and PC

    >Microsoft and Asobo went out their way to develop a simulator for everyone from real sims to casual fly from behind airplane gamers This is why the game is held to a higher standard than a specific simulator released exclusively for a niche audience, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a...

Microsoft's "biggest" game has the worst pre-install offering I've seen — gamers won't escape these gigantic day-one downloads

It could be anything, but it does seem like a huge missed opportunity. I've suffered so many headaches while trying to test MSFS 2020 on various gaming laptops/CPU components we get in review, but it became so tedious that I stopped trying to download from its ultra-slow servers. I fully...

Lunar Lake delivers a faster core performance than ARM": Intel is on track to change the way you think about AI PCs

Intel has the install base of x86, at least. But if Snapdragon X can prove capable enough with the x86-64 emulation it promises, then that install base could change, for sure! I certainly want to embrace Windows on Arm, it's been an exciting few months watching Qualcomm revive the platform...

Correct, should have been worded "improvements over hyper threading." It is indeed dropped in favour of the new E-cores.

Hyperkin is bringing back another iconic Xbox controller to use with Xbox Series X

The Duke was iconic, but THIS was my controller. I have a lot of nostalgia for that design.

Intel's next-gen Lunar Lake processors will launch in new AI PCs sooner than you think, hot on the heels of Snapdragon X and ARM

Intel is definitely pushing its schedule up, yeah. Wafers are already under production but we haven't seen CPU-centric benchmarks yet, so the "behind" part is up in the air.

    Balatro update patch 1.0.1f

Yeah, but does this mean I'll win more games? Probably not. Still won't stop me playing.

I finally tried Windows 11 on ARM after four years of unfairly dismissing Qualcomm's misunderstood platform (and I'm obsessed)

Did you hear about Beeper? https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/beeper-combines-telegram-whatsapp-and-more I should try the regular Beeper .exe on Arm and see how the emulation runs, but a native version would be great. Otherwise, yeah, the web version/PWAs of WhatsApp and Telegram are...

I finally tried Windows 11 on ARM after four years of unfairly dismissing Qualcomm's misunderstood platform (and I'm obsessed)

Yeah, the Surface Laptop Go 2 in my house was provided for work, and is NOT for personal use so I never really put it through its paces. The Pro X, though, has been really cool so far. I hope the OLED Surface Pro 10 w/ ARM isn't unreasonably expensive because.. I want it. Not holding my breath...

PSA: It doesn't matter if your computer runs on ARM, all of your apps will work on Windows 11

That's basically what I was expecting but so far the native Arm library has covered almost everything except Skype, Clipchamp, and, funnily enough, the Surface Diagnostic Tools app!
