Nokia was the 2nd highest selling phone brand in 2013, why did they sell themselves off to Microsoft

Nokia selling the phone business to MS was a smart move, Nokia using WP was not.

Is VR already becoming an after thought?

Everyone who has tried my PSVR has been very impressed and some have gotten the headset themselves, some are still considering and others do not even own a PS4 (Pro) so are not certain they would end up using it all that much. The store is getting more and more experiences everyday, and some AAA...

Surface not-Phone already losing the hype war?

There certainly seems to be little need for such a device, but the hype machines for Apple and Samsung can well create the demand for it nonetheless. I don't see what MS could bring to that table over the competitors.

    Miss W10M so much :(

Not really about W10M, but I do miss the easy one-handed use of WP8(.1). The apps that were on the platform, usually conformed to it pretty well, so if it made sense for the app, it could be used one-handed.

    Why Continuum failed?

You already touched on it, but yeah, no apps. You can't just practically abandon the mobile market for a year, to introduce another "whole new" platform that was basically buggy enough to be unusable for another year. Not even if you were one of the big players, and WP was never that. And with...

Intel vs AMD or Nvidia vs AMD? Which do you prefer in your build?

AMD for CPU because of Intel's monopolistic practices. AMD for GPUs because OS Linux drivers.

Microsoft owes us that have stuck with them since Windows Phone 7 and even beyond!!!

No, Microsoft doesn't owe us anything. They just have a hill to climb in convincing us that next time they won't drop all support for their next revolutional device the moment they have managed to create the next iteration. I'm speaking OS and ecosystem wise.

    News: Microsoft's future in mobile?

IIRC correctly feature phones were being worked in China, Finland was strictly smartphones.

    News: Microsoft's future in mobile?

A2-year-old device has so far gotten one major update, so it's been no worse than the best supported WP phones, and even has a good chance of getting a second major update. Not saying it's a perfect or even a good situation, but Android devices do tend to get more major updates than WP devices.

    Microsoft Besting Apple?

What Apple has reallized is that customers are, somewhat ironically, less likely to complain about a product with a high price tag. Less complaining gives a better perception. It also helps that Apple very very rarely completely drops the ball, like Ms / Nokia have done repeatedly.

Setting MS ahead of the curve - W10 / W10M feature suggestion

With: - MS adding phone call and SMS answering features to W10 - MS having already implemented dual screen -tech for Continuum in W10M - VR HMDs becoming a thing (possibly) Why not: - add an interface for VR app developers to enable answering phone calls and SMS messages within their...

Why are apps so poor quality?

For platforms that are not their main concern, corporations tend to outsource heavily. That, combined with their general willingness to not pay enough for the development results in apps being rushed out. The smaller companies that are usually doing the actual development also don't often have...

    Why *haven't* you bought a Lumia 950?

    1) Perfectly content with my phones currently (I'm a light user) 2) Too big 3) I don't trust W10M
