Hey guys, I've been using a Surface 3 since 2015 and recently I've noticed that the device has a bulge. Checking online leads me to believe that the battery is swelling due to age and long term use Does it make sense to order for a new battery and replace it? Or should I just switch it off...

I use a surface 3 and it's okay if you stretch out your legs straight - but sitting cross legged won't work

How much does it drain after every shut down and cold start? Does the battery drain increase after a long period of shut down?

Kepp regularly copying the photos and other relevant data to your pc or other storage device -and regularly do app settings backup - if in case something like this happens, you'll lose very little

are you sure the surface book screen isn't also displaying?

My personal opinion is this: Touchscreens are useful when doing creative work like drawing, colouring etc They can also be useful if you can have the device close to you, such as on your lap - for scrolling and zooming - especially in portrait mode - but your device needs that ability to rotate...

In my experience edge seems to struggle with fluctuating wifi or slow wifi - however with stable and good internet speeds it has no issue can you try using a different network and see if it still behaves the same way?

I usually use hibernate - still does the same work but battery life is the same after hibernating - sleep I've found to be finicky
