Can WP 8 or any soon to be released updates of the WP OS support miracast? I'm buying my mom a new smartphone and am leaning toward the lumia 1520. But can't get it if it can't do miracast and project to a tv via miracast.

Another bummer, dropbox doesn't automatically upload "camera uploads" into the public folder and I can't assign a nonpublic folder to ifttt. I hope they improve that website quickly. It has a lot of promise.

Thanks guys. That is a great website. Bummer I can create a connection that uploads flickr photos/videos to skydrive but not skydrive to flickr. Hopefully they'll make one in that direction soon. For now, I guess I can use dropbox instead (though I have more GB in skydrive). Thanks a lot :).

Wow that sucks. Makes me wonder if Apple is better - and I've only ever used windows. I like Win 8 interface and touch way more though. I've tried Umbuntu before too which is actually very nice. But not compatible with barely any devices so couldn't work for me. Thanks for your help.

I bought a used laptop. I keep coming up with an error when trying to factory reset. I can get a bootable usb drive with windows 8.1 but not windows 8. If I upgrade my used preinstalled win 8 laptop to windows 8.1, can I do a clean install just by inserting the 8.1 usb drive into the laptop...

I love 8.1 too. I don't get the hate. Besides the initial install, it's not buggy. I have a touch screen so that might make a difference. Only thing I don't love is the expensive future upgrades.
