automatic switching to newly opened program

I've set my laptop to operate under tablet mode at start up. When I'm in one program, say Edge and then I start a new program through it (i.e. downloaded a new program from a weblink and then clicked on the run option) my laptop doesn't automatically switch to the newly running program. It just keeps me in edge until I manually go to the new program.

Is there a way to change that so my laptop automatically switches to the newly run program/app?

Sounds like an issue with tablet mode as I'd expect it to switch. I suggest you use Feedback Hub app to report it as an issue.
