Maybe they are quiet on purpose. I would hazard a guess that they don't have any intention of selling anything VR consumer related. They are working on the technology for industrial purposes and whatever "cloud" infrastructure that powers the VR backend like Azure.
Maybe there is no marketing...
I use 40 GB (my limit of high speed) every month. I work in an on-call job for the US government so I'm not allowed to use private devices on the work Wi-Fi. So I stay entertained by using my phone all day.
LG V30 fits all your needs except for stock Android. LG's skin is dang close though. I am moving from a 1520 also and am picking it up soon.
I used all Microsoft products, other than the store, on my Nexus 6 without issue several months ago. I'm sure the apps have only got better since then.
Maybe its just me, but I could feel the anger behind that interview. Looks like Microsoft gave them little to no warning they were going to do this stuff.

Ya, falling behind fast. You almost never hear about support for W10. Not a peep about the Harmon-kardon Cortana speaker or the Home hub software MS showed off earlier this year.
Definitely agree on the potential for Phil Spencer now that he is way up there in the Microsoft Hierarchy. I think an argument could be made that he saved the Xbox brand after the clusterflop that the original launch had been.
