Install problems: Zagg screen protector on MS Band

If you are bad at dry installation, try Armor protector. It's only $8 at Amazon and has wet installation, which is super easy to properly align and remove any dust particles or air bubbles. Unfortunately, due to how the display is curved at the ends, no matter what protector you will install, it...

Decorating the outside of the band?

For something that you wear on your wrist, I would stick with uniform color. Black is always good and the material MS used for the Band's band is scratch-proof, so I don't see much need for any wrappers. Would be nice if MS for Band 2.0 release few color variants for the more sporty look and to...

    Language update?

I feel your pain. All my SMS, Emails, Address book entries, etc. that contain Cyrillic letters come as bunch of square boxes on the band. But for now there is no Unicode support on the band and I have to live with that.

    Is it possible?

Yes, it's possible if you switch to iPhone  There is no alarm synchronization between the two. Sorry, could not resist :winktongue:

Two months after release and counting - not a peep from MS

No disrespect taken. I do want a smartwatch, but I have my own understanding what 'smart' means when it comes to wearable devices. I don't get an idea of putting apps on your watch. The screen will always be too small and the batteries will always be even smaller, so the 'everything but the...

Taking the band On/Off, User Comfort in general

Same routine to a point. I use slightly moistened cotton swab to clean charger and HRM ports about once a week when I notice accumulation due to workouts and wrist sweating. I always wear mine face down - it makes it significantly easier to read that loooong horizontal display and does not get...

    Engadget's worst gadget of 2014

No hard data. Just a conversation I had with 'MS boy' at one of their stores. They usually receive only about a hundred or so of Bands to sell in a week. Multiply that by all MS store locations (a total of 102), throw in some Internet sales through MS site and it does not add up to much.

    Engadget's worst gadget of 2014

Yes, it's especially amazing considering 'fresh' inventories are in the low 4-digits every week. While Apple is selling millions upon millions of their latest phones, MS is creating a perceived shortage throwing few thousands of Bands on the market once a week.

    Engadget's worst gadget of 2014

When it comes to myriad issues I have with the Band as a product, comfort and looks are not one of them. When it's on my wrist, I don't notice it - never did. Maybe it's because I always wore watch my whole life and therefore the Band does not really bother me. I do have issue with the design...

Two months after release and counting - not a peep from MS

I have been able to play with products from all three major mobile players (Apple, Google & MS) (again, privilege of my work -:) and, at least so far, I was not impressed by Google Wear. The hardware from Motorola, LG and Samsung is fine, most of the issues really lies with software and that is...

Two months after release and counting - not a peep from MS

Thanks Matt, I will try RunKeeper analytics. Just as you, I was burned before by beta products, but this being MS and all MS reps being so excited about it in the days prior to the release when the rumors started flying, I was under impression that MS means it this time. They may still turn it...

Two months after release and counting - not a peep from MS

MS Band is by no means a complete product. Bugs galore, unfinished functions and disabled sensors, weak app and no ability to look at advanced statistics, Health platform that is in name only, data dissapearing into Cloud never to be seen again, etc. Nevertheless, many folks here including...

    returned mine after 25 days

I contemplated selling mine too as I was frustrated with many of the issues you describe as well as lack of any development from MS. But looking at the current market for wearables, there is really nothing better at available at the moment. I would wait until more info is known on Apple Watch...

How can I see time of day when running?

You're probably right and MS may turn down display in watch mode and disable auto-brightness sensor to save on battery. How do you wear you band - display up or down? And also did you apply the protective screen? I wear my band - display under the wrist and have to turn palm towards my face to...
