The state of Xbox Play Anywhere

Now that Microsoft is allowing Win32 games into the Microsoft Store--see Our Approach to PC Gaming - Xbox Wire--I am worried that Xbox Play Anywhere will die. Is it possible for game publishers to publish a game to the Microsoft Store as both an Xbox One game AND, on PC, a Win32 game and make it...

How well does AirServer work on Xbox One?

Why not read the reviews on the Store? I'll write about my experience here and may post it as a review on the Store at some point, whenever I feel comfortable that my review is thorough enough. My devices: I own an iPhone 7 Plus, an Xbox One S, and a 2017 Surface Pro (SKU 1807), and for this...

Now that the October 2018 Update (1809) has been re-released, ...

Thanks for responding to let me know that you got it on your 2017 Surface Pro. I was using mine when the Windows 10 mail app showed me a notification that you had responded to my message, so I read your message, then went into Windows Update and clicked "check for updates", and 1809 is now...

Now that the October 2018 Update (1809) has been re-released, ...

… have any of you 2017 Surface Pro (5th-generation Surface Pro) users been able to update by going to Start --> settings --> Update & Security and clicking on "check for updates"? If so, I'd be curious to know what your Surface Pro SKU is. I've read or heard that Microsoft isn't allowing all...

Edge now puts notifications in the iOS Notification Center

As far as I can tell, Edge is now also searchable via Spotlight search. It seems that my Edge history is searchable via Spotlight search.

Edge now puts notifications in the iOS Notification Center

On second thought, I guess that it is less important to be able to receive notifications in Notification Center from web sites via Edge on iPhone than it is to be able to receive them in Windows' Action Center via Edge on Windows 10 because many web sites have iOS apps that can deliver...

Edge now puts notifications in the iOS Notification Center

I was browsing through my notifications on my iPhone and saw that Edge had put notification of recent news events in the Notification Center. This is new. I like the fact that Edge can now deliver notifications in iOS via iOS's Notification Center, and on my iPhone, I'll go to some of the sites...

    USB DAC's and Xbox One?

Also, I *assume* that the Xbox One controller's headset jack is TRRS, otherwise I don't think that any connected headset's microphone would work. I don't know what standard it uses.

    USB DAC's and Xbox One?

Actually, I'm not 100% certain that AHJ and OMTP are the names of the standards but I do recall seeing those names as I did my own Internet research on this subject. You'll have to do your own research as I'm only vaguely familiar with this topic. The Wikipedia page that I provided a link...

    USB DAC's and Xbox One?

Another thing to think about: are there any DACs (USB or HDMI) that not only output audio to a headset, but also accept input from that headset's microphone? Headsets have microphones while headphones do not, and microphones can be great for adult multiplayer gaming. If I recall correctly...

    USB DAC's and Xbox One?

I was actually suggesting that if you find USB DACs that are compatible with Xbox One, find out if you can disable their internal surround sound virtualization processing, and have your Xbox One do the virtualization processing while outputting the sound through the DAC. I have limited knowledge...

    USB DAC's and Xbox One?

Actually, you might find that Windows Sonic for Headphones and/or Dolby Atmos for Headphones are better than a USB DAC's virtual 7.1 channels because both Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos offer *more* than 7.1 virtual channels.

    USB DAC's and Xbox One?

I don't know anything about DACs but I wanted to suggest that if you find one that is compatible with Xbox One and/or Windows 10, you should find out if you can make your Xbox and/or your PC do Windows Sonic for Headphones or Dolby Atmos for Headphones surround sound virtualization processing...

Microsoft Pay teams up with Masterpass

How do you use Microsoft Pay? On my old Windows phone I remember Microsoft Wallet, but here on my Surface Pro running Windows 10 version 1803 I don't see any app named "Microsoft Pay" (or even "Microsoft Wallet"), and I see neither Microsoft Pay nor Microsoft Wallet in the Store.
