Would you honestly buy another Microsoft Mobile?

I can honestly say that No, I will not be purchasing another Windows Phone, Microsoft Mobile or otherwise. Windows [10] Mobile has put the metaphorical nail in the coffin of the few remaining features that drew me to the Windows Phone platform. It's a completely foreign OS to me that's wearing...

My Windows 10 Mobile Wishlist: New unified UI design building off of the original ?Metro design principles and off that of Microsoft's competitors New Windows Store application design that feels welcoming and makes me want to spend time in the store Quick controls center similar to that of...

    W10M User Reviews and Impressions!

Impressions from an armchair designer After recently purchasing a Lumia 635, I decided to install and try the latest build (10080, I think. Settings doesn't use the build numbers in versioning. Go figure.) of the Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview on my T-Mobile Lumia 810. May I say that that...

Windows 10 mobile - the ugliest future...

It may of changed since I last successfully opened the insider feedback app, but much of the Insider comments were more on harmless UI aspects of WinMo 10 (Round profile pictures, for example) than the major aspects (Lack of pivot, for example). There was a lot for the hamburger distaste...

Stuck in Emergency Download Mode; How do i recover it?

As we all know, the Windows 10 Technical Preview is available, and now supports a wide range of devices. As such, I thought it would be nice to try installing it on my Lumia 521. However, things did not go smoothly. Even after numerous factory resets, the Windows Insider app failed to run...

Microsoft launches MS-DOS Mobile for Lumia smartphones

Spent my entire afternoon on this, but I created the "Microsoft Disk Operating System Mobile with Windows 3.1 User Guide" so people could get a better grasp on how to use MS-DOS Mobile and launch the various commands (as some of the DOS syntax has changed, leading to many non-DOS users confused...

APN Settings - going mental over here

IDK if you got this fixed, but i can assure you the 8.1 developer preview didn't break the access point settings (running the latest version). However, access point relies on extras+info, which in turn relies on the OS version, so if the access point options are not operational then you likely...

    How's your 810 holding up?

It wasn't the card format. I formatted it using Windows, using the phone, using formatting software, etc... Not to mention, if it was the format, a reset wouldn't of fixed the issue, but it did. Currently using a 32GB UHS-1 Class 10 with exFAT and 64kb allocation sized

    How's your 810 holding up?

I did this. Many. F-ing. Times. Never worked. Tried numerous formats too (FAT32, exFAT, default allocation, 64kb allocation, 32kb allocation, etc...) That and System storage exceeding 4GB said its time for a reset. Working now though, post reset. And with 8.1's newer backup and restore...

    How's your 810 holding up?

At the time, Windows Phone as a whole did not support Wi-Fi calling, which is why it was not released with such a feature, and despite floating misinformation around IMS, a device must have properly configured hardware in order to support WiFi calling. As such, the 810, never being intended to...

Lumia 810 - EOL - What about Firmware updates?

Once more, a friendly reminder that the developer account registration is not necessary. Merely unlocking the phone with the registration tool from either Visual Studio 2013 (RC Update 2 or higher) for Windows or the Windows Phone Lite SDK is enough. After that, it's just an app away from...

    How's your 810 holding up?

As I've explained in other threads, the lack of firmware updates is mostly non-issue. 90% of the features with these "updates" don't require firmware updates as all, as they are provided through the Nokia "system" apps which are updated automatically through the store whenever the corresponding...

Lumia 810 - EOL - What about Firmware updates?

They seem to do well with the 521, but i agree that their track record isn't the best.

Lumia 810 - EOL - What about Firmware updates?

Nope. The Preview currently, before today, pushed the same version of 8.1 that's pushed along side Cyan (the Preview pushes not only Pre-release, but also RTM and General Availability updates), and I still had it. I'm installing GDR1, as it was pushed today via the preview, and will let you know...

Lumia 810 - EOL - What about Firmware updates?

Sales. The 810 was the highest cost out of it and the two 82x models, and not enough customers' were buying it over other TMobile devices. The 521 was a runaway success, which is why it avoided the same fate, and the 925 did well enough that ATT felt they need it.
