Today, Microsoft has launched MS-DOS Mobile, a new OS designed especially for Lumia smartphones. In case you didn't know, MS-DOS was installed on millions of desktops. Well, now you can install it on your phone. "Black and white text has never looked so good," says Tom Messett from Microsoft Lumia Marketing in the launch video. Watch the video to see glimpses of the new/old OS before deciding if you should install it on your phone.

Very cool indeed. Well worth the download and playing with.

So after playing around with MS-DOS Mobile, I found out that there is a hidden story (a biography) of a Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. It's in parts and injected in almost every directory (at least the one's I scanned).

Now I could tell you how to find it, but what's the fun in that? ;)
Post here if anyone else finds it.

Also, one more fun thing. Try formatting the C drive.

Found your Tycho story.

The disk free space indicated in the app is the amount of free space on your phone's storage.

Well, editing the autoexec.bat will save the changes, (using "edit autoexec.bat") but it doesn't change how things boot. Not really used. Bummer. I was hoping to add the "touch.com" driver loaded high and auto-run RPS.EXE just for fun.

You can do that. just type "loadhigh touch.com" and it'll work...

Spent my entire afternoon on this, but I created the "Microsoft Disk Operating System Mobile with Windows 3.1 User Guide" so people could get a better grasp on how to use MS-DOS Mobile and launch the various commands (as some of the DOS syntax has changed, leading to many non-DOS users confused as to how to operate the software, and equally as many DOS-fluent users offering incorrect answers [that typically include the incorrect syntax for the CD command.]).

Also have a "revisions" page so people can submit revisions in case I made an error or a future update (if any) changes something mentioned in the guide.

Thanks. I was wondering what I could do DOS and your guide helped a lot. I heard that there was an Easter game on it. Do you know about it?

Run "loadhigh touch.com" before you start RPS. It's easy enough if you read the text responses carefully.
