Feeling too frustrated with the more recent WP experience after using since 2010

Is anyone else feeling the same thing or am I just being whiny? Will my experience with iOS or Android be worse? I've used a WP for almost 4 years and have completely adopted the ecosystem so it's going to be a big change for me to try something else.

Feeling too frustrated with the more recent WP experience after using since 2010

Thanks for the comment. I'm actually not waiting for another flagship. One thing I find kind of frustrating is the size of the phones. I want one with a 4" screen or smaller, the only 'decent' one is the Lumia 620, but the screen on it is completely garbage, and it only has 512 ram. The iPhone...

    Puzzle Alarm with NFC Disable?

Yes. Scanning a QR code would be a good compromise but my understanding is that Microsoft in their infinite wisdom has determined that the alarm is a core component of the OS and no app can override the basic functionality, and that apps can't do it themselves because they can't run under the...

Feeling too frustrated with the more recent WP experience after using since 2010

I first bought my Samsung Focus in November of 2010, I love it and WP7.8 was a lot of fun. I absolutely loved the Zune software and the biggest attraction to the phone was how the Messaging app combined Facebook chat along with Texts, LinkedIn Chat, etc...I went years without using a Facebook...

    Puzzle Alarm with NFC Disable?

I'm disappointed but not surprised that there don't seem to be any apps with this feature even though Android, iPhone and even Blackberry have these kinds of apps. What I'm talking about is an app that uses a NFC tag to shut off the alarm.

Are there any Alarm clock apps that aren't completely terrible?

Seriously, even Blackberry has decent alarms. I'd like an alarm app that can run in the background, and for puzzles/NFC/QR code disable doesn't have dismiss buttons on it, apparently none exist, but there are countless ones for other platforms.

Considering the 521 for Eastlink AWS 1700 network in Canada

Thanks for the info, that doesn't sound too bad. Would there be any problems with me being in Canada, or should it work no different from say a 520 I bought here?

Are there any WP8 devices with hardware media controls?

Dont they have options like double tapping a button might skip a song? Or at least Android API allows for configuring it that way?

Are there any WP8 devices with hardware media controls?

I use my phone a lot for the media player, and it always annoyed me that there was no way to pause or skip song without powering on the phone or using the clunky earbud volume buttons. My old blackberry had play/pause, skip and rewind buttons right on the top of the phone, are there any WP8s...

Considering the 521 for Eastlink AWS 1700 network in Canada

Hello, I'm considering buying the Lumia 521 to use on Eastlink's network in Nova Scotia, Canada. Eastlink doesn't currently offer any Windows Phones, but they use an AWS 1700 network which is the same as T-Mobile. There's nowhere to buy it here in Canada, so I was either going to buy a T-Mobile...

    IE won't open in WP7.8

Updated to WP7.8 a few days ago, now all of a sudden I can't open IE. Tried setting to open in current tab, deleted browsing history, have done hard resets and removed the battery. Still nothing happens when I click on the tile. If I launch it from the Apps list, the screen starts to fade away...
