StrangeEdge or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Firefox

Performance and page rendering quirks keep me away. Also they still haven't fixed the way the browser handles click-to-enable flash. To many "mission critical" sites for me just don't work in it.

Why are so many Microsoft services limited feature-wise, outside the USA?

I too have my MS devices set to US. It's ridiculous. Both Apple and Google have strong service support here. It's ridiculous how behind MS are.

Leaving Xbox, been here since day 1....

I plonked down my money on a PS4 Pro/God of War bundle 2 weeks ago because there are literally 2 exclusives I want on Xbox One. I ended up poking around the PS store and I now have 16 games. Not all of them are exclusive, but enough are that I'm quite pleased with my purchase and am very much no...

Are you REALLY using that touchscreen? - Buying Advice :)

I honestly don't realise how much I use the touch screen until I'm on a computer that's not mine. Then every few minutes I will tap at the screen or swipe on something, "oh right... not touch". Over and over. I guess I use the touch screen so much on my own devices that it's become habitual.

New Surface today or Andromeda tomorrow...

If your SP4 runs everything you need, I'd wait. If it's starting to break down and you need to run x86 apps on the go, I'd suggest getting one of the current Surface offerings. Or, potentially, I'd grab a "good enough" laptop from the likes of Dell or HP and play the waiting game. My situation...

Will you opt-out after the SCU hits?

Honestly, since the last year's spring update (what was that called? The first creator's update? Man, this naming scheme is getting stupid) I've been jumping onboard near RTM and jumping back off again. Mostly because - I don't know if it's my desktop getting old or what - I'm finding the...

MS trying to shove Edge down peoples' throats

I use the Mail app. I prefer not to use Edge. I'm logged into my university account in Windows so the calendar and mail integration is nice. However, Edge is a nightmare to use for any kind of study because of site rendering issues and the way it handles flash these days. Yes I want flash to go...

Why does Edge suck so bad

I have a number of issues with Edge as well. Initially it was my browser for locking myself into "study mode" where the only favourites I had in it were related to my uni courses. But after the way they changed how flash works in it and a few other changes that I can't explain away, a lot of...

    Live Tiles in Andromeda

Maybe. They really need more personality, though. The new store tile introduced in the second creator's update was a step in the right direction, but most of the stock app icons are boring and hard to differentiate at a glance. The plain white icons just don't do it for me anymore. Honestly, MS...

Can we expect Surface phone on MWC 2018? If no,then when can we expect?

I imagine we're more likely to see something that is like the always-on PC's that can fit in your pocket. It'd be nice if it had telephony, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Edit: As others have already said, they won't announce it at a mobile phone event, though.

Windows 10 Mobile build 15254.1 Discussion (Fast Ring)

Wait, how? I can't get anything recent on my mums 1520. Is there some kind of trick you can do?

Just when I thought the app situation couldn't get worse.

This is less of an apps on Windows problem and more of a daft expectation that everyone owns a smart phone, let alone an iPhone or Android. My dad is pretty tech savvy, but due to personal beliefs he is resistant to having anything more than a feature phone, and even then he is hesitant to take...

Am i only person that thinks Nadella should go?

I would argue Mr. Nadella has done a commendable job since taking his role as CEO at Microsoft. First, Mr. Nadella faces the same problem a lot of politicians face: having to deal with a year or so of managing the reprecussions of the previous leadership's choices, be they good or bad...

Do you use a VPN? Why or why not?

I use a subscription based VPN service. Why? Because I like feeling secure when connecting to WIFI networks away from home. Because I don't live in the US and geoblocking is bull****. Because sometimes my business is MY BUSINESS, and the age of Facebook and Google has made privacy not only...

Why I'm pissed off about the music pass death

I'm mostly annoyed they rebranded the Music app to Groove. It was and still is a terrible name. I would like them to remove the branding and just call it Microsoft Music again or something. You're right though. Microsoft is not building a lot of confidence in their ecosystems when they're...
