802.11ac and 5Ghz in general are much more distance and line-f-sight to the AP than 2.4GHz. Do your testing quite close to the AP and see if your performance improves. You could also try a 3rd party USB Wi-Fi NIC as a test in the USB 3.0 port.

Continue to be very pleased here too with SP4. Using it instead of work laptop often for client meetings and presentations. Lot of Evernote and Outlook, but the occasional post processing in Lightroom and Photoshop CC too.

Very happy with my SP4,i7, 16GB, 500GB model. All smooth, no issues really.
