I'm sure that 1 day they will get it up to par. But if not by my contact renewal date, I will be purchasing an Android.

I think you are just out of luck. However, here is a thought for contacts. If you have Gmail or windows live, see if it has the opinion to bring your contacts into one of those. This could be a work around for contacts.

Has anyone seen anything on a hack to tether the HTC Surround?

Bluetooth My car's native system supports it, but most don't.

My problem is I did not read much about it. But what I did read said there would be tethering, even wifi tethering. Additionally, it was touted as being "better" then 6. Guess I read too much from MS and not enough from the independent press.

I'm probably an average user and I have used about 600MB in 2 weeks. So let's say 1.2GB/month.

That will work, but I use bluetooth to accomplish this. Nice and clean, no cables.
