It is most definitely worse. Most notably that it keeps trying to use proper names when unnecessary. It's been even worse in some preview builds, but it's still not as good as it once was.

I have been having the same issues. Also, it get's extremely laggy/buggy sometimes and I have to pull the battery and sometimes says I need to scan the SD card to fix issues. I have reset the phone, formatted the SD card and nothing is helping so far. Thinking of recovering to WP8 at this point...
