Microsoft: Windows Phone isn't our focus this year!

Well, ?t's Not Looking Good Last year, when MLB TV announced that they would be dropping their Windows Phone app, it was all over the internet. This year, there is no Windows 10 app at all for MLB TV, at least at the time of this writing. And no one is batting an eye over it. You would thing...

Windows 10 and Avid's Scorch plugin

If you are not involved with music, you may not be familar with Scorch. It's a plugin for reading music online. I have used it for years as a practice aid for my music students and choirs. Even sheetmusic sellers use it for online purchases as it has a print function as well. But, It will not...

Flash Video Support. Windows Phone's Last Chance?

The reality is that if you still have a Windows 8.0 phone, you can view Flash video that you cannot on 8.1 because the user agent switcher app would make the website think that your phone was really another device. Last time I looked, it was still at the Windows Store. With that in mind, there...

Flash Video Support. Windows Phone's Last Chance?

This is a software issue. On the contrary, I do not believe that I am missing things here. By means of a "user agent switcher" app, one can view Flash Video websites that will not normally allow themselves to be played on Windows Phone. There is an app for Windows Phone 8 that did just that...

Flash Video Support. Windows Phone's Last Chance?

Well, it's really very simple. If Microsoft says that they want unification across all three platforms, then I expect everything to work on all three platforms. If something won't work on some of the platforms, it's not unification. It is or it's not. A smart phone is a computer. The OS...

Flash Video Support. Windows Phone's Last Chance?

I've touched on this in another article about Windows 10 and just what is their definintion of "One Windows". Having a serious app shortage is one problem. But, if one can, as I have, get past that problem, there is the limitied video access on the Internet with which to contend. Those of you...

Windows 10 must allow access to Android Apps to be successful on Tablets and Phones

This would be a great idea. Just set up Windows 10 so that it can use any app from any OS. Never happen though, Android, Apple and Microsoft are so into themselves, they'd never do it.

Loosing the 8.0 Mesage Hub Was a Big Mstake

I have a Nokia 920. Battery life is much better now that I have more control over more apps. Video playback is much better. Now I don't have to start over again with a video clip just to check an SMS or answer the phone. The new Notification Center is fine, but I had set up my tiles in such a...

    Is Windows Phone becoming android?

That was my thought as well. Yes, I read Daniel Rubino's piece "Sharing is Caring" at Sharing is caring – How the Social Extensibility framework for Windows Phone 8.1 will make things better | Windows Phone Central but I hardly think that things will be better. Having friends and family across...

    What could possible be running

I wound up doing exactly what you did. The culprit was Facebook Messenger. It would drain the battery in 6 hours flat - even with WIFI and Data turned off. The soft reset trick worked fine, until I got a message, then I'd have to soft reset again.

    Message Hub improvments in 8.1?

In the Message Hub of Windows Phone 8, I can attach anything to an SMS messsage. If I choose "Online" messaging, I can only attach my position. In order to send a photo or other attachment, I have to use the Microsoft Facebook app or the Facebook Messenger app. With family and friends on one...

    What could possible be running

I have never been happy with the battery Life in my Nokia 920. Even with WIFI and Data turned off, battery life would be no longer than 10 hours Maybe, I'm the last person to figure this out, but after turning off WIFI and Data, I tried doing a soft reset. After turning off all possible...
