With Tmobile snagging the 640 (and a supposedly low price of $89), I'm very tempted to buy it and ditch my Lumia 925.

Compared to the 925, how's the camera quality on the 640? (since its not pureview, ziess, or ois)

What about battery life?

I don't care much for flagships, but hopefully someone can answer if the 640 is a good replacement for the 925
. Thanks 😊

I'm using a 830 and I've owned a 925 and currently own a 920 and since the chipsets on them are very similar I guess I can answer this. When it comes to battery life, the 640 will fare better, I mean considerably better. Camera cannot be compared, the 925 has a superior camera which would get better with W10 (faster Lumia camera 5.x baked in the OS). The 640 would be cooler overall when using applications and under load while the 925 does heat up slightly, performance in games will be better on the 925 but multi threaded applications might run better on the 640 due to its quad core. Plus the 640 will come with expandable storage which the meager 16GB 925 lacks.

Personally, I would've preferred using my 925 over a 640 if i were you.

I posted a comparison of the two phones here already: LINK

Performance of everything is better on the 640. The paper specs about processors are only that - paper specs. In reality the 640 is faster at everything. I loaded the Windows 10 Preview on the 925 and honestly it runs S-L-O-W-L-Y - really hope this improves with the final OS builds.
Note I have not put Win10 on the 640 because of issues I have with the new email interface.

Camera results are about the same, at least for me. The 925 is slower at capturing the picture though. Battery life is way, way better.

Brilliant! Thanks for informing me. Looks as though I'll pick a 640 up when T-Mobile releases it
