950 xl case causing phone to overheat and shut down

I had purchased an Olixar FlexiShield Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Gel Case, which I received last week. I installed the case on Saturday and soon after the phone began to shut down without warning. (shut down, not reboot). this happened several times on Saturday, and continued through Sunday. obviously the case was trapping heat and the phone would do a thermal shutdown to avoid damage. After removing the case mid day Sunday, the phone once again became normal, and did not shut down all day. I installed the case again Sunday night, and as soon as I started to view a video....it shut down again. I have not had the case on the phone since then, and it has performed flawlessly..................

I got the Olixar case while waiting endlessly for my Mozo back....

just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this with a gel/rubber type case.
