I've been waiting for some sort of confirmation of this feature for so long (thanks WPCentral)! I think OneNote would be a great app to have this feature to do things like quickly check off to to-do lists.

I'd probably use it more on my phone and Surface RT a lot more than on my PC, but can never be upset with more options to do an easy task. So I love what Microsoft has cooking up! :D

I wonder though, if it'll even be as convenient to have this, since there will most likely be a start menu combo from W7 & 8 replacing the start screen, so there will be less room for live tiles in the new menu, but this is all just speculation from the peek at threshold MS showed at Build.

Yeah I don't see how it will work with the start menu program and live tile combo they might just use it for the metro interface.

I like it. The possibility of doing more in the start screen and not having to launch an app to do something fast and then close it, that is efficiency.

But maybe It adds too much complexity to the UI. When the tile expands the adjacent tiles move to make room, this could disorient people that expects things to be in the same place all the time. The movement to reach an app that is always in the same location becomes automatic, the continual shuffle of the tiles breaks that mechanic.
