I have been using the surface book for the last few days. Fortunately, I havent had many of the hardware and software issues reported here. But one thing that was driving me nuts and made me want to return the surface book was the lag when scrolling. The trackpad isnt as responsive in general as the ones on the macbook or chromebook pixel I came from. Even the surface pro 4 trackpad i tried in best buy was more responsive.
On the surface book, there was always a lag for a beat or two before the scrolling would start everywhere in the OS, especially in chrome. If you disable two finger pinch to zoom in mouse and touchpad settings, i dont get the lag anymore. I guess when you touch with two fingers the OS waits to see if you are trying to pinch to zoom or scroll and that creates the lag. I just use the touchscreen anyway.
I prefer to use chrome and scrolling was just unbearable. The newest canary build works on windows 10 and has been rock solid stable for me, and the scrolling seems much improved. Also go into chrome://flags and enable smooth scrolling. It is now about as good as edge for me, and Im enjoying the surface book a lot more.
