crunchy sounding

My Surface Duo is crunchy sounding when I squeeze it

Yes, squeeze the displays together in the closed position makes a crunchy sound.

Why would you do that? I wouldn't even think to squeeze the displays together.

I doubt I will do that. I have found that even things designed to take abuse can only take so much before they too will fail.

I have not noticed anything abnormal with my Duo thus far.

When I say.. "squeeze the screens together" I mean just the action to close the device I hear crunching. It is a very light squeeze. It doesn't take much.

If you hear crunching when closing the device then get a replacement immediately .

Guess I misunderstood your meaning. That said, what you describe does not sound normal, I would be thinking about replacement.

There are two metal ribbon cables connecting both screens that are not held down because of the 360 rotation of the screens. They're located at the top and bottom hinges. Could this be the crunching sound.
