On screen keyboard stopped working

Last night I experienced a strange situation for the first time and thought I'd report it here: the on screen keyboard stopped responding from within metro IE. When needed, the keyboard would "pop up" but no characters would appear in the field needing entry when touched on the keyboard. Other touches and gestures worked. I had never experienced anything like this before.

I was able to get things working with a simple Windows reboot / restart.

FWIW, I am running a Windows 8.1 on a 64GB Surface Pro with all updates.

You're bound to get a few glitches here and there, it is Windows after all . Since a reboot solved the issue, I wouldn't be concerned unless it happens again.
