Two years ago I bought my surface pro 3 and it has been my constant companion ever since. But about two months ago I went to switch it on and it would not boot up. I tried all the button combinations on the Microsoft support site but alas it was dead. I spoke to Microsoft support and they confirmed it was a hardware failure and offered a replacement for about £700 but alas I don’t have that money to splurge on a PC at the moment. * I left it for about 2 weeks thinking I would dismantle it and salvage the SSD drive. Before I went to dismantle it I tried the power button and joy of joys it booted up only to die again after 10 minutes.* This pattern has repeated itself every couple of weeks for the past 2 months. I am gutted to have laid out a reasonable chunk of money on a Microsoft flagship piece of kit only to have it fail after 2 years (I am typing this on a cheap 8-year-old Dell laptop the just won't die)
