Thinking about getting my mother a 1520 with the MSFT Store deal going on right now ($100 off). I gave her a 520 (we're with AT&T) a couple months ago from a family member that bought it but didn't use it. She likes the 520 but is not crazy that you have to take pictures using the button on the side. Her hand shakes a bit when pressing the button.

Can the 1520 take photos by tapping the screen?

She prefers this method from her previous phone, an Android Galaxy S 2.

I hope she does, too! I know I love mine (red). I've had it since release day in November, and I actually love the size, too. The display is fantastic. I just ordered a micro SD card for mine, so I don't have to worry about storage space. Oh, not that it matters, but I'm no "spring chicken" either. ;-)

I have shaky hands so I thought I'd chime in. The 1520 is the best camera phone that you can get for your mother. The optical image stabilization is wonderful and makes a huge difference for those with shaky hands. And yes, theres a camera button on the screen, so she should be ok there.
