Unzoom photo after the fact

I had a 1020 before getting my 1520. On the 1020, I could snap a zoomed-in picture, and then unzoom it later to be able to see the surrounding stuff. In other words, the camera always saved the full image from the sensor, not just the part I was (digitally) zoomed into. I can't get this to work on my 1520, though. If I zoom in and take a photo, that's it; I can't unzoom it later. Am I missing a setting, or is unzooming only a feature on the 1020?

Are you using Nokia Camera? I can do it with either Nokia Camera beta or Nokia Pro Cam on my Icon (same camera as the 1520, fwiw). I'm on WP8, GDR3/Black, fwiw.

Edit: I know it's not quite a direct comparison, but a data point at least.

I just did some comparisons. It works in Nokia Camera, but NOT in Nokia Camera beta. I wonder if it's just a bug, or if they're planning to pull the feature. I'm on WP8.1 update 1/Cyan.
