Hi there!

I'm planning on getting a Verizon branded (Red color) Nokia 2520 from the Microsoft store. Does anyone know if the Verizon tablet that I purchase at MS store will work when I add it to a At&t data plan? I did see the specs and the LTE bands are the same in both the version (LTE network bands: 2, 4, 5, 7, 17). But I want to be sure before I get one.

I really want the red color and on the AT&t network. And hence this question!

Short answer: No.
Long answer: The Verizon tablet only has LTE bands 4 and 17. It will *only* ever work on Verizon. AT&T model is far more global, you get 2G, 3G, and 4G (AT&T and T-Mobile LTE band compatible).

Does ATT not use band 4 LTE? The 2G and 3G bands on Verizon's version are clearly incompatible but I thought both ATT and T Mo used band 4 for their 4G LTE.

Of course, none of that helps anyhow if the device is carrier locked.

both the At&t and Verizon versions are sim locked respectively to each carrier. I have both and tried my tmobile sim in each of them....no dice.
