Nokia Lumia 720 on Straight Talk issues

My roommate has a lumia 720 and Straight Talk with t-mobile. We both believe he has the APN settings right but he can't get anything more than EDGE it seems. Upon a restart he did see H and H+ over his reception bars but it went away soon and have zero reception. Has anyone tried to get the 720 on Straight Talk?
