lumia 800 camera starting automatically

From few days my lumia 800 is acting like aliens.. as soon as I lock it , it starts automatically and directly starting camera and takes snaps. when I start my phone with lock key just opening of phone and camera starts again..................even resetting the phone does not help. Please help

It could be something wrong with your camera button that makes the phone think that it's always pressed.

Hey! Do you use rubber protective case for your Lumia 800? I had the same problem with camera and it turned up that case accsedently press the camera button. In short try to remove the case if you use it.

Same here but different phone. Phone lays on the desk (far away from my or other fingers) and suddenly the camera start to take pictures with flash and does not stop.
I turn it to lock screen, but later it starts again. The intervals are random, some of them as short as few minutes. Any solutions?

System: Windows Phone 8.0
Phone: HTC Windows Phone 8S

have just updated the OS to version 8.0.10327.77 (firmware revision 3030.00.32901.411) and will see what happens...

neither OS/firmware update AND factory reset did not help.
the behaviour is the same. will send the faulting device to manufacturer for repair

i think, u r right dude, it works fine after removing the case.
