Issue with 822

My friend just got an 822 a few days ago.

He had an issue tonight, where the phone went to black screen. no matter what he tried to do, it wouldn't bring back up the lock screen.

I had him pop out the battery, put it back in and then restart the phone. Now everything seems peachy.

I'm curious, is this an issue that may persist? Is there a fix for it? I'm a happy 8x owner, and this is his first smart phone. Apparently if it does something like this again he's going to just exchange it for an iphone...which would be less than ideal to say the least.

I had him check for updates and his phone is up to date. I just want to make sure that I'm heading off any issues to keep him happy with his phone.

Mine actually did this for the first time today, about an hour ago. I also had to do a battery pull.

This is a known issue. Verizon will replace it. There is supposed to be a fix coming out sometime in June, maybe?????
