Missing features in Bing app

Was watching a Youtube video today on the new features of Bing and local scout and in the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw3nPYwS0MI he starts up Bing and is able to scroll across to movie times, local deals, top videos and news headlines.

When I access the Bing app on my phone though I can only do a search. I also have buttons at the bottom for local scout, music and vision.

I just wanted to know if there's a reason I'm missing these other items. Is there a configuration option somewhere or is it (I'm suspecting) region restricted? (I'm in Australia)

You're saying you CAN'T swipe to the right?

Not sure about the restriction. only one way to find out. Change it to U.S :wink:

Yeah I can't swipe to the right at all. I get the Bing daily image and the search box, and that's it.

It's an unbranded and unlocked 920. My carrier is Optus.

I can confirm it's because of the region settings. When I was using Malaysia as my region, all I could do was search with bing. Then I changed my region to US, now all the options you mentioned are there. But scout isn't much help at all as it can't use my location to find anything nearby. It just says "we couldn't find any nearby places in this category".

Damn...that's a bummer. There's no mention of these features here: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-au/how-to/wp8/basics/feature-and-service-availability?signin=true or here: Microsoft Feature And Service Availablity Matrix (For Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Xbox) - Andrew Tech Help

So it's hard to know what regions get all the Bing features...but I would assume US only.
