About W10MIP missing apps and features...

Hey all, I just upgraded my phone (Lumia 920) to the latest W10MIP version, did a hard reset on it and got it running clean and greatly since yesterday, way better than the last time I tried. Thing is, I'm missing some features and apps in W10MIP, like:

- Where's Creative Studio? It ain't available anymore? And Panorama?
- Where's the QR code scanner that was built in with the search button? I don't have Cortana in my country yet, and when I tried switching region she did not appear either.
- How to sync my FB contacts with my contacts hub? From the app it keeps rejecting the sync.
- How to set Google as my default search provider instead of Bing?
- Can I re-arrange the order of the quick access buttons in the notification centre? If yes, how?
- Where's the "Me" section in W10MIP?

That for now... Feel like I'm forgetting some stuff, but that would be a good start :P.

Thanks in advance!!

Its not over yet. This is just the next build in the march to greatness.

I don't want to sound rude nor ungrateful, but that's obvious pal... I'm asking about it in the current version, as if there is any way to get those features or enable them, or something similar... Thanks anyway!

But you do sound rude and ungrateful and I'm not your pal. If you want a pal, get a dog. Ya feel me?

If you can't be helpful don't post. The op was asking some legit questions that you didn't answer. If anything pal you have come across as the rude one.

All I said was it ain't over yet. How in the world do you find that rude?

Well, following your line, answering "it will be better" to a pack of questions that ask for answer to them, not obvious answer like "it is getting improved" or "it's not the end" is useless information, which I even thanked you. I don't feel ya because we're not pals, as you said, and I have a cat, a dog and a bunch of hedgies which I feel really well, besides a bunch of pals over here as well. Two useless answers to some questions, what's the point? It's almost as useless as to answer "google it". It's just as jizwizard said: if you can't help, avoid the post. Thanks.

I think it's his way of saying that those features are not available yet because it's a preview. There are a lot of features and functionality that will be present the closer we get to RTM. If you can't live without it then you're probably not a good candidate for testing this. The only reason I have not enabled this on my phone is because of the lack of Groove music pass functionality. I'll become a tester as soon as this is available.

Your second post was.

Of course the second post was. It was intended to be. But no mention of the rude retort from the OP. Just my reaction to it needed your attention.

With it being said this way it would have made a huuuuuuge difference. Yet, I know there are still things missing, I just want to know if any of the ones I mentioned are already fixed and I just don't know how to do it, or if they are still out and we need to wait for them, nothing else. Thanks!

Re: About W10MIP missing apps and features...

Is this thread going anywhere?

I hope it goes to answering my questions... I hate threads that go away from the point of creation, but I can't stand people who quickly begins to fight just because. I used to be a mmorpg forum admin, so I saw enough of it for my entire life, lol.
BTW, could you help me with answers, if you have, on my questions rockstarzzz plz? Thanks! :D

Re: About W10MIP missing apps and features...

Dont expect W10M to be polished even on launch. This is because MS decided to start over AGAIN. It will be missing features and they will keep telling you on the next version, so you'll wait. Just like the 3 previous start overs on WP.

Re: About W10MIP missing apps and features...

To get back on topic. I had some of the same issues that you did when updating between builds. I found that half of the Lumia apps for example were not available in the new W10M store. The solution? Perform an upgrade from 8.1 (with all of the apps that you want) to the newest 10 build and do not reset the device. I had been performing hard resets after updating to the latest builds as most have, but with this last build I upgraded from 8.1 (I had rolled back) to 10166 straight to the newest build and all of my apps that I had been using now work.

Second thing is that there are a lot of things that do not appear to be turned on such as "Hey Cortana" which I had used quite regularly, or broken that had been working such as mobile hot spots. I have a pretty good feeling that as we get closer to launch we will see a flurry of new builds and the quality and these other issues will be cleared up as they have been with W10 desktop.

Hang in there as we are going through the same testing pains as you are as well!

A.

-Some apps are not available on the Windows 10 Store, right now it's unknown if they will be coming back or not - it's expected that they will (there isn't any reason for them not to) but as it stands we just don't know. If you roll back to 8.1 and make sure to install the apps before installing the TP again you will retain them as long as you don't do a hard reset

- The QR Scanner hasn't exactly followed Cortana with the TP, but the most recent update to the Camera app on Windows 10 reintroduced the 'Lenses' option. This allows you to load up another app from the camera to use, so you could find a QR app from the store and have quick access to it from here

- The FB sync on my devices works fine, I did have an issue on one device with 10166 where I needed to uninstall and reinstall FB for it to complete the sync process though. One of the quirks of being on a tech preview :)

- Currently, the option to set Google as the default search provider over Bing does not exist

- You can reorder the primary row of Action Center buttons by going to Settings -> System -> Notifications & Actions. From here, you can just tap on the 'quick actions' and choose whatever you want. Devices with screens larger than 5" can fit 5 icons here

- The 'Me' section was removed with Windows 10 after having most of the functionality removed from 8.1

Thank you both, this was the kind of answers I was looking for :D .
